Konbanwa! It was clear you were very tired, just as you said. Thank you so much for still taking part in the lesson—I truly appreciate it! Firstly, we finished up to Lesson 4,the questions, very nice work. In today's lesson, we started learning and practicing Lesson 5,Indicated existence,"arimasu","imasu",Indicating existence is a key point in the first half of the textbook and in this lesson.
In Japanese, the verb “imasu”is used to indicate the existence of living beings, such as people and animals. It’s the counterpart to “arimasu, which is used for non-living things and plants.
For example: ki ga arimasu(there is tree), isu ga arimasu(there is a chair), Otouto ga imasu(I have a younger brother), Jane ga imasu(there's Jane),
New vocabulary: keitai(celler phone), omocya(toy), shinbun(news paper), isu(chair), tsukue(desk), pasokon(personal computer), shokubutsu(plant), kokusai tenji joh(International Convention Center, akacyan(baby),kodomo(child),kodomo-tachi(children), jyosei(female), dansei(man), and so on.
It’s getting more difficult as we learn more words, but let’s keep trying bit by bit. Thank you for your hard work tonight, too! Have a great week then. See you next time. Take care!
