Thank you for coming to class today!
Today, you showed me an image of your travel itinerary for Japan. Just looking at it made me really excited! You’ll be visiting Okayama, Himeji, Kobe, Nara, Kyoto, Nagoya, Kanazawa, Nagano, and Tokyo. That is such a long and exciting trip!
You’ll be coming to Japan on an ANA flight starting September 16, so your trip is getting very close now. It sounds like it’s going to be a wonderful adventure.
You also told me more about your life in Hawaii, including when you moved there and why you chose Hawaii. I thought that was really interesting. Hawaii is warm and such a beautiful place, so I can understand why you like living there. Japanese people love Hawaii too!
We also talked about souvenirs from Hawaii. For Japanese people, macadamia nuts and chocolate are probably some of the most famous Hawaii souvenirs. Then we started wondering what people who actually live in Hawaii usually buy as souvenirs for their Japanese friends.
You said that American soda might be a good idea, and I thought that was a really interesting suggestion! It was fun talking about the difference between the souvenirs tourists usually buy and the kinds of gifts local people might choose.
