I was a little jealous when I heard that the weather in Hawaii is sunny! Right now, Japan is in the middle of a typhoon season, so we have been getting a lot of rain. Because of the rain, it is not too hot, but I am hoping for some sunny days soon.
Today, we studied kore, sore, and are (this, that, and that over there). I think you understood the differences between them very well.
これはほんです。
Kore wa hon desu.
This is a book.
これはノートです。
Kore wa nooto desu.
This is a notebook.
これはかさです。
Kore wa kasa desu.
This is an umbrella.

I was so surprised to hear that you practiced karate when you were little! No wonder you can count numbers in Japanese so well—it’s amazing that you still remember them!
Also, your hunting hat today was wonderful and really suited you well! Thanks to that, we learned a great new word: "すてき" (Suteki / Lovely)!
Today, we practiced the particle "の" (no) using your favorite manga, Ghibli anime, and our next lesson schedules. You did an outstanding job making those sentences!
