Otsukaresama deshita! 😊
Today was Tanabata (the Star Festival) in Japan, so we learned about one of Japan’s traditional annual events. We also thought about our wishes together. You learned how to say:
「日本語がペラペラになりたいです。」
(I want to become fluent in Japanese.)
The onomatopoeia “pera pera” (ペラペラ) is a very common expression, and almost everyone studying Japanese knows it!
We also talked about real World Cup soccer topics, learned about geta (traditional Japanese wooden sandals), and practiced many conversations for when you come to Japan.
We practiced expressions such as:
* 食べたいです。 (I want to eat…)
* 飲みたいです。 (I want to drink…)
* 私は日本でお姫様に会いたいです。 (I want to meet a princess in Japan.)
Finally, we studied a new expression from Lesson 2:
「いいえ！違います！」 (No! That’s not right!) 😄
Just a reminder: Next week’s lesson will start one hour earlier, at 8:30.
