Title:

It was so nice to have a lesson together after a while! Since there is a time difference between us... good evening, good afternoon, good morning... we exchanged a lot of greetings 😆 And you learned a new phrase: "Hisashiburi" (It's been a while). I am genuinely amazed at how well you can speak just from watching YouTube and anime... It seems like there's still some room left for me to teach you, which makes me happy 😎 Today, we practiced self-introductions, how to order the "Tokujou" (extra-special) grilled eel (kabayaki), and how to buy funny kanji T-shirts as souvenirs in Japan. It was a short time, but we had a lot of fun. Let's see each other again next week. I'm looking forward to it!

We learned a little hiragana today; once you master it, your ability to learn new words will improve dramatically. Let's keep up the good work next week.

Thank you for joining the lesson as always. It was wonderful to see you!
Today, we continued studying how to change Group 1 verbs into the ta‑form, both the past and past‑negative forms, from the masu‑form. In the plain form, the verb changes like this: きく kiku, きかない kika nai, きいた kii ta, きかなかった kika nakatta.
To make these forms, the “き ki” sound changes to "か ka” because Group 1 verbs switch from the い i‑row to the あ a‑row when forming the negative. So “き ki” → “か ka,” and then you add “ない nai.” This is why “ききますkikimasu” becomes “きかないkikanai.”
Today’s practice might have felt a little boring, but it’s important, so we reviewed it carefully. Still, we made it fun, almost like a quiz, and you did a great job. Let’s continue reviewing and enjoying the lessons next week as well. おつかれさまでした! Have a wonderful three‑day weekend! See you next time!
