Today, we mainly studied three things:

③ Useful greetings and phrases for daily life in Japan, such as:

Today, we also discovered some new things!
I was happy to learn about your favorite anime.
“Fullmetal Alchemist” is often called “Hagaren” in Japan.
And I was surprised to hear about “Sailor Moon” too! So nostalgic♪

It's not exactly summer vacation yet, but you mentioned you have a long weekend, so I was very happy we could meet.
In today's lesson, we mainly reviewed verbs. Until your new textbook arrives, let’s continue practicing and reviewing together.
You also asked a good question about the masu‑form.
The masu‑form is the polite form in Japanese. However, we don't use it with friends of the same age. It is mainly used when speaking to people of higher status, acquaintances, customers, managers, teachers, and so on.
For adjectives and nouns, we add desu after them—for example: oishii desu, kirei na hana desu, gakusei desu.
But we do not add desu after the masu‑form of verbs.
