Thank you, as always, for joining the lesson. It was great to see you again! In today’s lesson, we practiced expressions that use verbs. Before the new textbook arrives, we will continue reviewing various verb‑based expressions.
You shared so much today too. I really enjoyed our conversation. I hope you had a good time too. Thank you for your hard work! Have a great week and stay well. See you again in June!
Thank you so much for your second trial lesson! Today, we practiced introducing yourself. We practiced the sentences: "Nice to meet you=はじめまして/hajimemashite I am [Name]=わたしはnameです/watashi wa "name"desu. I live in [Location],"わたしはlocationに すんでいます。 /watashi wa "location"ni sunde imasu. and "I like [Hobby/Thing].わたしは 〇〇が すきです /watashi wa 〇〇ga suki desu.
It might feel a bit difficult at first, but don't worry at all!! We will practice together many times, and before you know it, the Japanese will come out naturally! There is no need to worry! If there is anything you don't understand, please feel free to ask me anything, as many times as you need!
📅 Japanese Date & Time Expressions: ReviewThis review guide covers dates, days of the week, birthdays, and schedule structures based on your worksheet.
1. Days of the Week (ようび - Yōbi)When listing multiple days together, you can drop "ようび (yōbi)" for the earlier days and just keep it at the end (e.g., どようび と にちようび $\rightarrow$ ど・にちようび).
Q: きょうは なんにちですか。(What is the date today?) A: 5がつ 24にち (ごがつ にじゅうよんにち) です。(It is May 24th.) Q: あしたは なんようびですか。(What day of the week is tomorrow?) A: げつようび です。(It is Monday.)
Asking about Birthdays Q: おたんじょうびは いつですか。/ なんがつ なんにちですか。(When is your birthday? / What month and what day?) A: 8がつ 21にち です。(It is August 21st.) Q: リアさんのおたんじょうびは いつですか。(When is Lia's birthday?) A: 5がつ とおか です。(It is May 10th.)
4. Grammar Pattern: Talking About Events When you want to say "An event takes place at [Time] / at [Place]", use the particles に (ni) and で (de).
💡 Core Grammar Rules: [ Time ] に [ Event ] が あります。 (There is an event at [Time].) [ Place ] で [ Event ] が あります。 (There is an event at [Place].) [ Time ] に [ Place ] で [ Event ] が あります。 (Combining both)
Examples from the worksheet: らいしゅうの どにちに おまつりが あります。(There is a festival next weekend.) らいげつの げつようびに コスプレのイベントが あります。(There is a cosplay event next month on Monday.) 5がつ とおかに いえで りあちゃんの おたんじょうびかいが あります。(There is Lia's birthday party at home on May 10th.)
