I was so relieved to hear you made it back to the US safely! You know how to enjoy Japan like a total pro!!
I can't believe you were so close to Miyazaki Prefecture!! If I had known, we might have been able to meet up!! We'll just have to save that as something to look forward to in two years ♬ You honestly know more about delicious Japanese food than I do—I feel like I should be the one asking you to show me around Japan!
Today we practiced self-introductions and the greeting you use with your coworkers when leaving work!
We also had a lot of different Japanese words come up, like:
おさきに しつれいします (Osakini shitsureishimasu) : Excuse me for leaving before you
さいこうです! (Saikou desu!) : It's the best! / Awesome!
めちゃくちゃ / めっちゃ (Mechakucha / Metcha) : Very / Super / Insanely
いもうと (Imouto) : Younger sister
きんとれ (Kintore) : Working out / Weight training
どくしょ (Dokusho) : Reading
Next week, let's do a lesson on Japanese numbers! I'm looking forward to next week too!

Thank you for joining the lesson. We had a quiz to check the meanings of words that appeared in the first chapter of Volume 1 of Flying Witch. These words may not be very familiar from the textbook, but let's take this opportunity to learn and remember them.
レッスンに来てくれてありがとうございました。 漫画『ふらいんぐうぃっち』第1巻の第1話に出てきた言葉の意味を確認するテストをしました。 授業のテキストではあまり馴染みのない言葉ですが、これを機に覚えていきましょう。

Thank you for attending the lesson. As output practice, you talked about what happened last week. It sounds like you had a great time doing various things with your friends. You practiced making sentences using the new vocabulary. We also introduced the sentence pattern “~shinakereba narimasen,” which is used to say that you have to do something.
レッスンに来てくれてありがとうございました。 アウトプットの練習として、先週の出来事について話してもらいました。 友達といろいろなことをして、楽しそうですね。 新出単語を使って、文章を作る練習をしました。 「〜しなければなりません」の文型を紹介しました。

Thank you for joining the lesson today, even though it was your day off. It was really nice to see you, and thank you as always.
In today’s lesson, we practiced changing dictionary form to masu‑form, and the opposite—changing masu‑form back to dictionary form—while making conversations. You also used the te‑form and higher‑level particles, such as “のを,” to make sentences. For example, “pot roast ができるのをまつ (to wait for the pot roast to be ready),” and “たべるのをまつ (to wait to eat.)”
You were also able to speak using the nai‑form (negative form). For example, “Yoasobiのうたをうたわない (I don’t sing Yoasobi’s songs,)” and “さいきん、まんがをよまない (I don’t read manga recently.)”
You used many of the phrases we have studied so far, and you shared a lot of stories again today. I really enjoyed the lesson, and I hope you felt the same. Thank you for your hard work, excellent job! I look forward to seeing you next week. Have a wonderful week!
