Thank you for coming to class today.
I was a little jealous when I heard that the weather in Hawaii is sunny! Right now, Japan is in the middle of a typhoon season, so we have been getting a lot of rain. Because of the rain, it is not too hot, but I am hoping for some sunny days soon.
Today, we studied kore, sore, and are (this, that, and that over there). I think you understood the differences between them very well.
これはほんです。 Kore wa hon desu. This is a book.
これはノートです。 Kore wa nooto desu. This is a notebook.
これはかさです。 Kore wa kasa desu. This is an umbrella.
--- それはくつです。 Sore wa kutsu desu. That is a pair of shoes.
それはかばんです。 Sore wa kaban desu. That is a bag.
それはカメラです。 Sore wa kamera desu. That is a camera.
それはめがねです。 Sore wa megane desu. Those are glasses.
--- あれはくるまです。 Are wa kuruma desu. That is a car.
あれはいえです。 Are wa ie desu. That is a house.
あれはつくえです。 Are wa tsukue desu. That is a desk.
あれはいすです。 Are wa isu desu. That is a chair.
We also practiced how to make negative sentences, such as:
これはオレンジじゃありません。 Kore wa orenji ja arimasen. This is not an orange.
You did a great job using these expressions and speaking Japanese during class.
Thank you again for your hard work today. I look forward to seeing you in our next class!

Great job in today's lesson! I had so much fun chatting with you! I was so surprised to hear that you practiced karate when you were little! No wonder you can count numbers in Japanese so well—it’s amazing that you still remember them! Also, your hunting hat today was wonderful and really suited you well! Thanks to that, we learned a great new word: "すてき" (Suteki / Lovely)! Today, we practiced the particle "の" (no) using your favorite manga, Ghibli anime, and our next lesson schedules. You did an outstanding job making those sentences!
Today: Minna no Nihongo Lessons 1 & 2 Next Week: Lessons 2 & 3 I'm already looking forward to next week. Have a wonderful week! 🌻

Thank you for joining the lesson as always. It was great to see you again! Today, we finished to Lesson 9, i-adjectives, Thank you for your hard work!
Also, we began to study Lesson 10, na‑adjectives. Here are some of the phrases we practiced: Lion wa kiken desu. (A lion is dangerous.) In this sentence, kiken is a noun. It does not describe anything; it simply means“danger,”followed by desu.
Lion wa kiken‑na doubutsu desu. (A lion is a dangerous animal.) In this sentence, kiken‑na describes the noun doubutsu (animal). This is how a na‑adjective works.
When a na‑adjective comes before a noun, it needs na. Adjectives are used to modify nouns. They describe or give more information about the noun.
We will continue studying this part in the next lesson. Thank you for your effort today. Have a wonderful week and Since you'll be going to a concert this weekend, I hope you have a wonderful time. See you in two weeks!
