Thank you for always joining the lessons. I really appreciate it, and it makes me very happy.
Today, we continued practicing how to use “moshikashite” and “sasuga” in conversation.
For example:
* moshimashite, ashita gakkou desuka? (Moshikashite, are you going to school tomorrow?)
→ iie, mada desu.(No, not yet.)
And:
* anatano eigo wa teineidesu, shoshite kirei desu. (Your English is very polite and beautiful)—sasuga-desu,(That's just like you.)
“Sasuga” is a phrase used to compliment someone.
Both expressions are used very often.
We also studied how some nouns are made from verb stem + mono.
For example, kaimono means “a thing you buy.”
So, verb stem + mono = noun.
Kaimono shimasu is a verb, but you cannot say tabemono shimasu to mean “I do food.”
Even though tabemono is a noun, it doesn’t work with shimasu in that way.
We practiced the conversation from the textbook today. You did it very well — sasuga-desu! This part is almost finished.
Next, we’ll move on to the phrase from Lesson 4: “go to the place in order to do.”
You worked hard again today. It was wonderful.

Did you enjoy today's lesson? Since you mentioned how much you love Japanese anime, manga, and music, I introduced three songs that have a lot of punch, clear pronunciation, and are easy to sing. Learning Japanese through songs is such a fun way to do it! ☺️
Since you are planning to visit Japan this December, you definitely have to try unagi (eel) when you get here! Today, we practiced how to order unjaju (grilled eel over rice) at an unagi restaurant. You did a great job!
You seemed so surprised when I told you that there are no tips in Japan, and that water—as well as your favorite Japanese green tea 🍵—is free! I will be introducing more of Japanese culture to you little by little. Next week, we'll be studying Japanese characters, which you're interested in. I'm really looking forward to it!
